Bright mid-gold. Persistent palate of brioche, nuttiness, pineapples, hint of raisins and honey notes. The dosage of 24 g/l gives this unique Champagne a pinch of fruity sweetness. Comprised of 60% Pinot Noir, 30% Pinot Meunier and 10% Chardonnay. The fruitiness is so intense and the wine so very fresh, it feels Brut-like on the finish. Evolved, complex and DEE-LEE-CIOUS!
*The bottles had arrived in Singapore in January 2016 and have been stored in 24/7 air-conditioning all these 5 years. The half decade of bottle age has truly transformed the wine, giving it greater complexity and a remarkable evolved character. The old French expression is goût anglaise or “English Taste” because an older generation of British people love their Champagne when the bubbles are not so aggressive. Having sold out 120 bottles of Champagne Duval-Leroy Douceur de Champagne Dry Reserve on 1 November 2020, the distributor discovered another 60 bottles.
These were held in bond – with round-the-clock air-conditioning – by Champagne Duval-Leroy.
The bottles have since been released after payment of Customs duty.
They represent the last remaining 60 bottles of Champagne Duval-Leroy Douceur de Champagne Dry Reserve in Singapore and are made exclusively to followers of wineguru.com.sg.
