El Hombre Bala Negre 2018 is a pure Garnacha or Grenache, the backbone variety of France’s Chateauneuf-du-Pape.
Like the legendary Chateau Rayas, El Hombre Bala is entirely Garnacha (with just 2% Carinena).
This very limited production Spanish red comes from vines between 50 and and 90 years old!
From four different vineyards in three villages. These are located on the west side of Madrid in Cadalso de los Vidrios, Cenicientos and Rozas de Puerto Real.
Viticulture is completely biodynamic and the vines grow on granitic soil at an altitude of 1,000 metres.
Grapes are hand-harvested at the perfect moment of ripeness. They are destemmed and maceration lasts an average 30 days at low temperature to ensure the tannins are as supple and elegant as the incredibly scented, floral rich raspberry, dark cherry, blackcurrant fruit.
El Hombre Bala produces perhaps Spain’s finest Garnacha.
